A certified legal translation in the UAE is more than an accurate rendering of a text. It carries the seal and signature of a translator licensed by the Ministry of Justice, and it is that licence which gives the document legal weight before courts, notaries public, immigration authorities and free zone registrars.
The three requirements
- A licensed translator. The translator must hold a valid Ministry of Justice licence for the specific language pair.
- An official stamp and declaration. Each page carries the translator seal, signature and a statement of accuracy.
- Format fidelity. Layout, stamps, seals and annotations of the source document must be reflected in the translation.
